Sigulda
Sigulda, located 53 kilometers away from Riga, is nestled in Vidzeme region in Latvia. The town is tucked amidst the Gauja river Valley. On both banks of the river you will find caves and rocks made from reddish Devon sandstones. The city is popularly called the Switzerland of Vidzeme. The town offers great many tourist attractions for sightseeing in Sigulda.
Excursion to Turaida Castle
Turaida Castle sits on the opposite bank of the Gauja River, just across the town of Sigulda. It is situated in Turaida in Lativia's Vidzeme region. The castle was built in 1214 in Brick Gothic style. The castle features among the popular attractions of the Turaida Museum reserve which houses Videzeme's oldest wooden church and the Livonian cemetery.
Gutamanis Cave
Gutamanis Cave is a deep cave nestled the National Park of Sigulda. It is tucked on the banks of the Gauja River. The cave is 19 meters high, 10 meters long and 12 meters wide. You will find the cave between Sigulda city and the Turaida Castle. A beautiful creek flows in front of the cave. The cave bears inscriptions that date back to the 17th century. The cave is encircled by hills where you can enjoy a cable ride over the vast expanse of Gauja River Valley.
